September in the Sixth Grade

We made it through our first month of school and have already learned so much!!!  We had a great beginning to the 2013-2014 school year!

We are super busy at school!  Mrs. Corona has visited our classrooms and taught us that our attitude can make all the difference in our life.  We should create a positive vision and fuel our ride with positive energy.

We also had a visit from Rebecca Midkiff who spoke to us about the Peace Corps.  We are so excited to have partnered with the Peace Corps to learn more about Peru and its people within our classroom.  The sixth grade will correspond throughout the school year with Rebecca and learn about the ways of life of the people of Peru as well as learning about the mission of the Peace Corps.

Our first official Spirit Day was on Thursday, August 29.  We collected lots of food and money for Catholic Social Services.  This is also the day each month that we spend time with our Kindergarten buddies.  We spent the time outside on the playground with our buddies, and I bet you can guess who was ready to come inside first!  I heard many comments about praying for all Kindergarten teachers.  Our sixth graders were awesome with their buddies and very tired on Friday afternoon!

We can't wait to see what the rest of the school year holds for us. We are so happy that we will be on this journey together!
